Let’s Pick My Car vs V3Cars: Variant Advice Compared
By Prasanna · Published · Updated
V3Cars and Let’s Pick My Car both try to answer “which variant should I buy?”. V3Cars does it with Variants Explained articles and videos in Hindi and English, plus calculators and sales analysis. We do it with an interactive variant ladder that shows what each step adds and costs, itemised on-road estimates for every state and a free dealer-quote review. Watch their video, then test your shortlist here.

Two ways to explain variants
V3Cars’ Variants Explained format walks through a car’s trims in an article or a video and picks the ones it thinks are good value. That suits buyers who like a presenter to talk them through the car, and the Hindi videos suit buyers who prefer Hindi.
Our car guides do the same job as structured data. Each guide lists every variant that actually exists, with its exact ex-showroom price. The step-ups view shows what each move up the ladder adds, what it costs and how we rate it. You can filter by gearbox, fuel and must-have features and let the matcher rank the variants that fit, or put two or three exact variants from different brands side by side in compare.
Credit where it is due: V3Cars prints a “Last Updated” date on its price pages. For the Creta in Bengaluru it read 19 August 2026 when we checked.
Why the Creta’s road tax differs
Here is the Hyundai Creta E petrol manual in Bengaluru on both sites, checked on 19 October 2026.
| Line | V3Cars | Let’s Pick My Car |
|---|---|---|
| Ex-showroom | ₹10,90,700 | ₹10,90,700 |
| Road tax | ₹1,85,419 | ₹2,06,815 |
| Separate cess | ₹1,963 | Included in road tax |
| Registration, FASTag, number plate and other | ₹1,600 | ₹3,710 |
| Hypothecation (loan buyers only) | ₹1,500 | Not included |
| Insurance | ₹54,535 | ₹43,635 (planning estimate) |
| TCS | ₹10,907 | ₹10,907 |
| On-road total | ₹13,46,624 | ₹13,55,767 |
V3Cars’ road tax of ₹1,85,419 is 17% of the ex-showroom price. Our ₹2,06,815 starts from the same 17%, then adds an 11% cess on that tax and a flat ₹1,000 cess, following the Karnataka rules cited on our methodology page. V3Cars lists a separate ₹1,963 cess, so the two sites treat the cess differently. Neither of us is the RTO: check the road-tax line on your quote against the receipt.
V3Cars also includes a ₹1,500 hypothecation charge, which applies only if you take a loan. Insurance runs the other way, with V3Cars’ figure ₹10,900 above our planning estimate.
When V3Cars is the better choice
- You prefer watching a presenter explain the variants, especially in Hindi.
- You want monthly sales trend analysis and commentary.
- Your shortlist includes cars outside our 100 guides.
- You want mileage and cost-of-ownership calculators alongside news.
- You are also looking at used cars.
Where Let’s Pick My Car helps more
- Filtering by your must-haves. Tell the matcher your gearbox, fuel and must-have features, and it ranks the variants that fit within one car.
- Comparing across brands. Put two or three exact variants from different brands side by side in compare.
- Feature verdicts. Each feature is marked essential, recommended, nice to have or skip, with a rough retrofit cost.
- Crash ratings in scope. A rating is shown only for the variants and model years it applies to; where none is verified, the guide says so.
- Every state. The state price comparison ranks a variant’s estimated on-road price across all 36 states and union territories.
- Quote checking. The quote review flags charges to question in a dealer quote, and the quote library shows 122 historical buyer quotes.
- No phone number. None of our tools asks for one.
Frequently asked questions
Which is better for deciding which variant to buy? Use both if you can. Their videos explain the trims in plain language, and our ladder lets you check each step’s price and equipment against your own must-haves.
Why do V3Cars’ on-road prices differ from yours? For the Creta E in Bengaluru, the main gaps were the road-tax cess and insurance. Both are estimates; the dealer’s itemised quote and the RTO receipt are what count.
Do you cover the same cars? No. We cover 100 popular new cars from 15 brands, and V3Cars covers more. If your car is missing, you can request it.
Is Let’s Pick My Car affiliated with V3Cars? No. We have no commercial relationship with V3Cars.
