Best 7-Seaters Under ₹15 Lakh On-Road in Bengaluru

By Prasanna · Published · Updated

Seven-seaters are a narrow field once you set the limit at ₹15 lakh on-road in Bengaluru, because taxes, insurance and registration sit above the advertised vehicle price. This guide lists the options from our catalogue, with the cheapest variant of each and its estimated on-road price. Prices are our estimates, checked in October 2026, and are not dealer quotes or promises about what you will pay.

One caution up front. Crash ratings must match the model, tested version, year and programme. A historical rating does not automatically cover a current car. A missing applicable rating is uncertainty, not zero stars. Compare the safety equipment on the exact variant you are considering.

How we chose

We included cars sold with a seven-seat layout whose cheapest variant is under ₹15 lakh on-road in Bengaluru. We left out six-seat captain-chair versions where the seven-seat option is not listed. The cheapest variants below do not all sit inside the ₹10–15 lakh band, so we do not assign them that band’s ranking. The sales figures are September 2026 wholesale dispatches from our car sales page.

The Maruti Suzuki XL6 starts at ₹14.43 lakh (Zeta Petrol MT), but it is a six-seater with captain chairs, so we list it as an alternative rather than a seven-seater. The nine-seat Bolero Neo Plus starts at about ₹14.45 lakh with a 2.2-litre diesel and is a different seating choice.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga: the default choice

The Ertiga is the best-selling car here by a wide margin: 16,911 wholesale dispatches in September 2026, the 10th highest in the country. Its catalogue on-road range runs from ₹10.72 lakh to ₹16.29 lakh. For a family that needs space and low running cost, our page suggests the ZXi petrol manual at about ₹13.69 lakh for the reversing camera, climate control and driver height adjustment. A factory CNG version is available in manual only, and costs more upfront; see our petrol vs CNG guide.

Kia Carens and Carens Clavis

The Carens offers one seven-seat grade with three manual powertrains in petrol, diesel or factory CNG, from ₹13.82 lakh. The Clavis starts at ₹14.15 lakh with the HTE petrol manual and climbs well above ₹15 lakh in higher trims, so check the exact variant before you assume a fit. Try the third row with your usual passengers, including entry, headroom, legroom, seat belts and luggage space with all rows occupied.

Toyota Rumion

The Rumion starts at ₹11.77 lakh for the E petrol manual and is closely related to the Ertiga. It reported 2,481 dispatches in September. That does not establish stock or waiting time; ask the dealer for the delivery date in writing.

Renault Triber and Nissan Gravite: the lowest prices

The Triber starts at about ₹7.00 lakh and the Gravite at about ₹6.92 lakh. Both are compact seven-seaters, so try passenger and luggage fit with all the seats you need occupied. We have not road-tested or measured their space against the Ertiga. The Gravite page tells buyers to check loaded performance before relying on it for seven-seat duty. If you will regularly carry seven people with luggage, a larger car is the better fit. If the third row is for children and occasional use, these are the budget choices.

Mahindra Bolero and Bolero Neo

Both are diesel manuals with a 5+2 layout and third-row jump seats. Confirm seat orientation, restraints and suitability for your passengers. They are priced from ₹10.33 lakh (Bolero B4) and ₹10.91 lakh (Bolero Neo N4). In our rankings they sit near the bottom because they lack a safety rating and have limited equipment, so choose them for road and load conditions, not features.

What the on-road number leaves out

Our estimates include ex-showroom price, Karnataka road tax, registration, insurance and FASTag. They exclude dealer handling charges, accessories, extended warranty and add-ons. Read how to read a dealer quotation before you accept a total, and use choosing a variant to avoid paying for features you will not use.

How to choose

  • For a family of five plus occasional passengers: Ertiga or Rumion.
  • For a tight budget with a small third row: Triber or Gravite.
  • For rough roads and heavy use: Bolero or Bolero Neo.
  • For more space and features at the top of the budget: Carens or Carens Clavis.

Frequently asked questions

Is a seven-seater good for a family of four? It can be. The extra row folds down to give a large boot. But you pay for the larger body in both price and running cost.

Which seven-seater has the lowest running cost? CNG can reduce fuel cost under suitable mileage and local fuel-price assumptions, and the Ertiga offers it from the factory, but it is manual only and the premium takes time to recover. Use our fuel-cost calculator with your own distance.

Can an automatic fit in this budget? The Ertiga petrol automatic starts at about ₹14.04 lakh on-road. The Triber Emotion AMT and Gravite N-Connecta AMT also fit in the catalogue’s current estimates. Check the gearbox and exact variant rather than assuming every seven-seater here is manual.

Are these prices what the dealer will quote? Not necessarily. They are estimates with stated assumptions. Compare written quotes for the same variant.
