Let’s Pick My Car vs CarToq: Variant Recommendations

By Prasanna · Published · Updated

CarToq and Let’s Pick My Car both try to tell you which variant to buy, and both say they do not pass your details to dealers. CarToq gives personalised recommendations with owner insights and confidence indicators once you log in. We show every variant step openly without an account, with itemised on-road estimates for every state and a free dealer-quote review. Try both on your shortlist.

Two ways to recommend a variant

CarToq gives you a verdict. Its recommendations are framed around how you will use the car, for example as a highway traveller, and draw on owner experiences, with indicators showing how confident the guidance is. Your research is saved to your account so you can pick it up on another device. On the Creta page we checked, the variant recommendations were locked behind “Unlock Recommendations” until you log in.

Our car guides show the reasoning instead. Every variant that actually exists has its own page. The step-ups view shows what each move up the ladder adds, what it costs and how we rate it, and the matcher ranks variants against your gearbox, fuel and must-have features. Nothing is locked, and you do not need an account; a free account is only needed to save cars.

Which suits you depends on whether you want a recommendation or want to check every step yourself. Many buyers will want both.

Check the price behind any recommendation

On the Creta page we checked on 19 October 2026, CarToq listed the base E petrol manual at ₹10.73 lakh ex-showroom. Hyundai’s Bengaluru price feed, and the CarDekho, CarWale and V3Cars pages we checked the same day, showed ₹10,90,700. Ex-showroom prices vary by city and change over time, so confirm the city and date behind any figure before you compare.

From the ₹10,90,700 Bengaluru price, our estimate for the Creta E is ₹13,55,767 on the road: ₹2,06,815 road tax, a ₹2,860 registration allowance, ₹43,635 for insurance, ₹10,907 TCS and ₹850 for FASTag and small charges. Our methodology explains each line.

When CarToq is the better choice

  • You want a direct recommendation tailored to how you will use the car.
  • You want owner experiences summarised alongside the recommendation.
  • Your shortlist includes cars outside our 100 guides, including luxury models.
  • You want your research saved and organised across devices as you go.
  • You also want car news in the same place.

Where Let’s Pick My Car helps more

  • Choosing the variant. Every car guide has a ladder of trims showing what each step adds, what it costs and how we rate it. For example, the Maruti Brezza LXi petrol manual has no infotainment system or speakers. The VXi adds a 7-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, four speakers, automatic climate control, a height-adjustable driver’s seat and a rear defogger for ₹96,000 ex-showroom, or ₹1,13,299 on-road in Bengaluru. Our guide calls that step a must for most buyers.
  • Feature verdicts. Each feature is marked essential, recommended, nice to have or skip, with a rough retrofit cost where an accessory can do the same job.
  • Every state. The state price comparison ranks an exact variant’s estimated on-road price across all 36 states and union territories.
  • Quote checking. The quote review reads a pasted or uploaded dealer quote and flags charges to question and extras you can drop. The quote library holds 122 historical buyer-shared quotes for comparison.
  • Dated sources. Each car guide lists where its prices and equipment came from and when they were checked.

Using both

  1. Get CarToq’s recommendation for your use case.
  2. Open the same car in our guide and check the recommended variant against the steps either side of it.
  3. Get an itemised dealer quote and check it with our quote review before you book.
