Let’s Pick My Car vs CarDekho: Which Should You Use?
By Prasanna · Published · Updated
Use CarDekho for breadth: new cars from a much wider range of brands, including luxury models, plus used cars, user reviews, videos and dealer offers. Use Let’s Pick My Car once a mass-market car is on your shortlist and you need the right variant, each on-road charge with its rule, and a check of your dealer quote. None of our tools asks for a phone number. Many buyers will use both.

Your phone number and dealer calls
Large portals are free to use, and their privacy policies show where partners come in. CarDekho’s privacy policy says products and services on the platform may be provided by its vendors, dealers, OEMs, lending partners and insurance companies. It also says you authorise Girnar and its partners to contact you by phone, SMS or email “even if Your number/numbers(s) is/are registered in the National Do Not Call Registry”.
That is a normal way to fund a free site. It does mean that filling in an offer form can lead to calls from dealers and partners, so read the form before you share your number.
On Let’s Pick My Car, no form asks for your phone number. Test-drive and booking buttons go to the manufacturer’s website. The quote review stores the quote you upload so it can produce your review, and our privacy policy says we do not sell private quotation details or pass them to car dealers for marketing.
The same Creta, two on-road totals
Here is the Hyundai Creta E petrol manual in Bengaluru on both sites, checked on 19 October 2026.
| Line | CarDekho | Let’s Pick My Car |
|---|---|---|
| Ex-showroom | ₹10,90,700 | ₹10,90,700 |
| Road tax and registration | ₹2,07,815 | ₹2,06,815 road tax plus a ₹2,860 registration allowance |
| Insurance | ₹52,895 | ₹43,635 (planning estimate) |
| TCS and other charges | ₹10,907 | ₹10,907 TCS plus ₹850 for FASTag and small charges |
| Optional items | ₹25,500 | Not included |
| On-road total | ₹13,87,817, or ₹13,62,317 without optional items | ₹13,55,767 |
The road tax and registration lines are within ₹1,860 of each other. The bigger gap is insurance: our figure is a planning estimate based on the notified third-party rates and an assumed own-damage rate, and real premiums vary by insurer, add-ons and discounts. CarDekho’s ₹25,500 of optional items is not a compulsory cost, so ask what it contains before you agree to it. Our methodology explains each line.
When CarDekho is the better choice
- You are considering a brand we do not cover, such as a luxury car. Our 100 guides span 15 mass-market brands.
- You want a used car, or want to sell or value your current one.
- You want user reviews, photos and video reviews in one place.
- You follow launches and news, or want to see upcoming cars.
- You want dealers to contact you with offers, or want finance and insurance options alongside the car.
- You want to find a dealer, an EV charging station or local fuel prices.
Where Let’s Pick My Car helps more
- Choosing the variant. Every car guide has a ladder of trims showing what each step adds, what it costs and how we rate it. For example, moving from the Hyundai Creta EX(O) petrol manual to the S(O) petrol manual adds dual-zone climate control, cruise control, a dashcam, 17-inch alloys and reclining rear seats for ₹1,06,500 ex-showroom, or ₹1,30,302 on-road in Bengaluru.
- Feature verdicts. Each feature is marked essential, recommended, nice to have or skip, with a rough retrofit cost where an accessory can do the same job.
- Every state. The state price comparison ranks an exact variant’s estimated on-road price across all 36 states and union territories.
- Quote checking. The quote review reads a pasted or uploaded dealer quote and flags charges to question and extras you can drop. The quote library holds 122 historical buyer-shared quotes for comparison.
- Dated sources. Each car guide lists where its prices and equipment came from and when they were checked.
Using both
- Use CarDekho, or any big portal, to see the full field, including brands we do not cover.
- Once your shortlist is down to mass-market cars, open each car’s guide here and pick the variant.
- Compare the on-road line items on both sites, then ask a dealer for an itemised quote.
- Run that quote through our quote review before you pay a booking amount.
