Bengaluru on-road price calculator

Use the ex-showroom price to estimate the full Bengaluru purchase budget. See which amounts come from our pricing model and which are planning allowances.

New private cars registered in Bengaluru only. This is a planning estimate, not a dealer, insurer or RTO quotation.

Estimated Bengaluru on-road budget

₹12,01,496

Ex-showroom price
₹10,00,000
Road tax (lifetime)
₹1,56,400
Karnataka charges 14% of the invoice price, plus 11% cess on that tax and a ₹1,000 cess. The applicable slab applies to the whole vehicle price, not only the amount above its threshold.
Registration, HSRP & smart card (estimate)
₹2,860
₹2,860 is a budgeting allowance for registration, high-security plates, smart card and processing; it is not a verified itemised RTO fee schedule.
Insurance (planning estimate)
₹41,386
Planning estimate, not an insurer quote: 1-year own damage at 2.48% of ex-showroom (GST included), plus the notified 3-year third-party base and one annual TP premium allowance, with 18% GST. The Supreme Court directed 4-year TP cover on 4 August 2026; a notified 4-year tariff has not been verified. Confirm the policy term and final premium. Owner-driver personal accident cover and add-ons are extra unless already covered.
FASTag & misc.
₹850
FASTag and small documentation charges.

Excludes optional accessories, extended warranty, service plans, finance costs and discounts. Insurance is an allowance; confirm the actual premium, term and cover. Tax eligibility and final invoice amounts need confirmation.

What is included?

The estimate adds road tax and cess, registration-related allowances, insurance, applicable TCS and miscellaneous costs to your ex-showroom input. It uses the same central pricing model as our car guides. Amounts are rounded in rupees.

How do I use the example?

The initial ₹10 lakh petrol car with a 1,500 cc engine is hypothetical. Replace it with the exact variant’s price and engine size. For an EV, enter motor power in kW, not battery capacity in kWh. Changing the fuel changes the assumptions used for tax and insurance.

Can I use this for another city?

No. This tool models new private cars registered in Bengaluru. Other cities, commercial registrations and special exemptions need different rules. Keep optional packages separate and ask the dealer to explain any differences from the estimate.

Insurance and processing amounts are planning allowances. The itemised notes disclose uncertainty about the insurance term and tariff. Confirm the final cover and invoice rather than treating this as a statutory fee schedule.
