Let’s Pick My Car vs Autocar India: Reviews vs Data
By Prasanna · Published · Updated
Autocar India and Let’s Pick My Car do different jobs. Autocar India, the Indian edition of the British magazine since 1999, road-tests cars and gives an expert verdict on how they drive. We do not road-test cars. We help you choose the exact variant, estimate the on-road price line by line and check a dealer quote. Read their review, then pick the variant here.
Written by Prasanna, founder of Let’s Pick My Car, one of the two sites compared here. Our claims about Autocar India come from Autocar India’s own pages or published reports, linked below and checked in a browser on 19 October 2026. Prices on every site, including ours, change often, so recheck a figure before relying on it. We are not affiliated with Autocar India, and Autocar India did not review or pay for this article. From a review verdict to a variant
On its Hyundai Creta page, Autocar India gives the car an Autocar score of 9 and says “We’d recommend the S(O) trim”, because it is well equipped for its price. That is a useful starting point. Our Creta guide then shows what S(O) adds over EX(O) and what it costs:
- Added equipment: dual-zone climate control, cruise control, a dashcam, a rear wiper, automatic headlamps, folding mirrors, 17-inch alloys and reclining rear seats. Automatic versions also get an electronic parking brake, paddles and drive modes.
- Price: the S(O) petrol manual costs ₹1,06,500 more than the EX(O) petrol manual ex-showroom, or ₹1,30,302 more on the road in Bengaluru, at an estimated ₹17,59,522.
- Our rating for that step: great.
From there you can check the same step for the diesel or automatic, see whether a higher trim adds anything on your must-have list, or put S(O) beside a rival in compare. The guide also states plainly that no current Indian crash rating has been verified for these Creta variants.
When Autocar India is the better choice
- You want to know how a car rides, handles and feels to drive.
- You want tested performance and real-world fuel efficiency.
- You want an expert comparison of rival cars on the road.
- You are looking at luxury or performance cars.
- You prefer a magazine, TV show or video review.
Where Let’s Pick My Car helps more
- Every variant. All 1,413 variants in our catalogue have their own page with exact equipment differences.
- Itemised prices. Each on-road estimate shows road tax, registration, insurance, TCS and FASTag separately, with the rule behind each.
- Every state. The state price comparison ranks a variant’s estimated on-road price across all 36 states and union territories.
- Quote checking. The quote review flags charges to question in a dealer quote.
- Dated sources. Each car guide lists where its prices and equipment came from and when they were checked.
Which to read first
Start with the road test. If a car does not suit how you drive, the right variant does not matter. Once the shortlist is down to two or three cars, use our guides to choose the variant and estimate the price, then get an itemised dealer quote.
Frequently asked questions
Does Let’s Pick My Car road-test cars? No. Our recommendations are catalogue-based judgements, not first-hand road tests or reliability ratings. Read a road test for how a car drives.
Why do Autocar India’s on-road prices differ from yours? Autocar India’s Creta page showed a Bengaluru on-road range starting at ₹13.42 lakh when we checked; our estimate for the base E petrol manual is ₹13,55,767. Sites use different insurance and charge assumptions, so compare line items with a dealer quote.
Is Let’s Pick My Car affiliated with Autocar India? No. We have no commercial relationship with Autocar India.
